Philosophy and Purpose

The philosophy of Trust Tutoring is to view students as having their own perfect inner guidance for learning development. It implements the idea of normal, self-directed development as discovered and described by Dr. Maria Montessori from 1907. For more information about Montessori education, see the web site for International Montessori Society, http://imsmontessori.org.

Trust Tutoring follows this philosophy in the context of one-to-one tutoring by creating an environment that relies on natural self-directed learning to occur. In practice, our program provides an orderly, positive environment for learning, allowing students to fully utilize their own inborn tendencies toward concentration, independence and self-discipline in the learning process.
